<p>The integration of artificial intelligence into sustainable finance is becoming an important factor in the transformation of emerging financial markets. While sustainable finance aims to mobilize capital for environmental, social and climate-related objectives, artificial intelligence provides advanced tools for data processing, risk assessment, ESG analysis, investment screening and regulatory supervision. This article examines the opportunities, risks and regulatory challenges associated with AI-powered sustainable finance in emerging financial markets. The study is based on a systematic literature review and conceptual analysis of academic publications, policy reports and institutional documents related to artificial intelligence in finance, ESG analytics, climate finance, financial stability and regulatory governance. The findings show that AI can support sustainable finance through improved ESG data analytics, climate-risk modelling, green investment screening, sustainable lending, fraud detection and financial inclusion. However, the adoption of AI also creates significant risks, including algorithmic bias, low data quality, model opacity, cybersecurity threats, greenwashing, regulatory lag and unequal access to digital financial infrastructure. The article proposes a conceptual framework linking AI tools, sustainable finance functions, expected benefits, potential risks and regulatory responses. <p>This paper econometrically assesses the entrepreneurial efficiency of private educational institutions in Namangan region of Uzbekistan based on quarterly data from LSL (Learning Skills Lab) center in 2017–2024 (32 observations). Several log-linear regressions were estimated in Stata, employing a step by step procedure—correlation criteria, lag term tests, log transformation, VIF test and elimination of insignificant regressors. Dependent variable: profit; independent regressors: students flow, number of courses, branches, monthly fee per student, professors’ qualification, advertising cost, infra-structure cost, incurrent investments. The conclusions of the study deny the perfect managerial strategy and encourage a flexible institution-focused strategy—development of retailed admission levels and consumer oriented prices, optimal service levels, appraisal of branches.</p>Abdusattorov Sodikjon

The study explores the role of artificial intelligence technologies in enhancing service quality, operational efficiency, customer experience, and sustainable business development. Comparative, analytical, and systematic research methods were employed to assess the relationship between artificial intelligence, innovation, and competitiveness within the service sector. The findings indicate that the integration of AI-based solutions contributes significantly to productivity growth, service personalization, cost reduction, and the creation of competitive advantages. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of digital transformation and innovation-oriented strategies in strengthening the long-term competitiveness of service enterprises. <p>A sport tourism resource, when deployed in the process of delivering sport tourism services, yields a defined economic and social effect. However, the output of each resource in the sport tourism sector is bounded and is characterised by its finiteness. This article provides a scientific examination of the essence and the theoretical–methodological foundations of sport tourism resources. Drawing on scientific analysis, a comparative approach, survey data and the study of statistical sources, the paper classifies sport tourism resources into five interrelated categories—natural, infrastructural, financial, technological and labour resources—and evaluates their role in the sustainable development of sport tourism in the mountainous regions of Uzbekistan. Using the Omonqo‘ton (Amankutan) area of the Urgut district, Samarkand region, as a case study, the study assesses the territory’s potential for establishing a sustainable sport tourism zone. The results indicate that the country’s national nature parks alone hold a development potential of more than 213,000 hectares, and that several mountain districts of the Samarkand region possess a high capacity to form sustainable sport tourism zones. The study concludes that the rational, balanced and complementary use of an integrated resource base is the principal precondition for the efficient and sustainable development of sport tourism.</p>Jalol Abdujalilovich Kalandarov

<p>Land degradation and desertification are among the most pressing threats to arid regions, yet the same degraded landscapes increasingly attract visitors drawn by their stark beauty, their scientific interest and their cautionary environmental narratives. This article asks how tourism can be developed sustainably in such settings, using the Aral Sea region of Uzbekistan - and the autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan in particular - as a critical case. The desiccation of the Aral Sea, the emergence of the Aralkum salt desert and the resulting salt-and-dust storms constitute one of the most severe human-induced environmental disasters of the modern era. Drawing on reports of the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), the World Economic Forum and the United Nations Development Programme, peer-reviewed literature, and policy documents, the study uses a qualitative case-study design to develop a typology of tourism forms suited to degraded arid landscapes and a multi-level framework of the mechanisms - regulatory, economic, capacity-related and knowledge-based - required to make such tourism sustainable. The results show that the degraded landscape can function as a legitimate and valuable tourism resource when four conditions are met: visitor pressure is matched to ecological carrying capacity; revenue is recycled into restoration such as saxaul afforestation of the dried seabed; local communities own a meaningful share of the value created; and the ethical hazards of profiting from catastrophe are managed through interpretation and education. The article positions tourism not as a stand-alone sector but as one instrument within an integrated green-economy and ecological-restoration agenda, and discusses the principal tensions, risks and transferable lessons for other degraded drylands.</p>Akramova Feruza

<p>This article covers the theoretical, methodological and practical aspects of improving the transformation process of commercial banks. The study analyzes the issues of introducing digital technologies in the banking system, optimizing business processes, expanding the scope of customer-oriented services, improving the quality of corporate governance, and improving risk management mechanisms. It is argued that the transformation of commercial banks is not only the introduction of digital products and services, but also a complex process that requires updating the bank's business model, organizational structure, management system and personnel capacity. During the study, criteria were developed for assessing the digital maturity of banks, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, financial stability and risk tolerance. Also, practical institutional, technological and management proposals were put forward for the effective organization of transformation processes in commercial banks. <p>In the context of globalization, the transport and logistics sector, with a global market volume of $9.6 trillion, has become a strategic factor determining the competitiveness of enterprises. However, the current growth rates and infrastructural constraints in Uzbekistan do not fully meet the targets set in the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy. The purpose of this paper is to scientifically substantiate the mechanisms of radical reorganization (reengineering) of transport and logistics processes to enhance the efficiency of business entities.</p> <p>The diagnostics revealed critical systemic issues in the national logistics system: 38.3% of highways require repair, average transport speeds are below international standards (25–45 km/h), and the share of technical service stations is less than 20%. A severe structural imbalance exists in roadside infrastructure, where retail and catering outlets account for over 66%, while maintenance stations represent only 6.3%, and parking lots just 2.0%. Redundant operations—such as 2–3 times repeated reloading, inefficient routing, and bureaucratic documentation—reduce overall operational efficiency by 20–30%.</p> <p>The proposed "AS IS → TO BE" reengineering model algorithm (comprising diagnostics, bottleneck identification, digital prototyping, and KPI implementation) enables an increase in transport speed to 40–70 km/h (+40–60%) and a reduction in poorly maintained roads to 15%. The implementation of the developed project will ensure a 20–35% reduction in logistics costs for business entities, a 25–40% increase in freight speed, and ultimately foster a synchronous supply chain.</p>Matkarimov Komoliddin Jurabaevich

<p>Subject. The subject of this study is the set of innovative mechanisms and digital technologies designed to increase consumer demand for insurance services amid the digital transformation of the economy. Particular attention is paid to the influence of InsurTech solutions, artificial intelligence, Big Data, telematics technologies, and digital ecosystems on the formation of consumer behavior in the insurance market. Research objective. The study aims to identify the most effective innovative methods for increasing consumer demand for insurance services and to develop practical recommendations for improving the operations of insurance organizations under conditions of digitalization and intensifying competition in the insurance services market. Methodology. The methodological framework includes systems analysis, comparative analysis, economic and statistical methods, data generalization and grouping, and an analysis of international experience in insurance-market development. The study examined scholarly publications by domestic and foreign researchers, analytical reports issued by international organizations, and materials from leading insurance companies. Results. The study established that the principal drivers of growing consumer demand for insurance services are the digitalization of insurance processes, personalization of insurance products, adoption of artificial intelligence and Big Data technologies, development of mobile services, and ecosystem-based models of customer interaction. The findings demonstrate that innovative tools can improve the accessibility of insurance services, enhance customer-service quality, reduce insurers' operating costs, and increase insurance premium volumes. Conclusions. Sustainable development of the insurance market under current conditions is impossible without the broad adoption of innovative technologies and digital solutions. To increase consumer demand, insurance companies are advised to develop personalized insurance products, expand the use of digital sales channels, improve customer services, and actively adopt artificial intelligence technologies. <p>The service sector has become the leading component of the global economy, accounting for more than 66% of the world's gross domestic product (GDP), playing a dominant role in the labor market, and demonstrating the highest adaptability to innovation-driven transformation. At the same time, the distinctive characteristics of innovation in the service sector—intangibility, direct interaction with customers, and the close integration of process and product innovations—require specific organizational and economic approaches that differ from those applied to industrial innovation. The findings indicate that the share of the service sector in Uzbekistan's GDP increased from 44.8% in 2022 to 48.6% in 2025. Furthermore, Uzbekistan ranked 79th out of 139 countries in the Global Innovation Index 2025 and has been recognized as an "overperformer" for four consecutive years. However, the country's relatively low position in the Innovation Outputs sub-index (92nd place) highlights the need to improve mechanisms for translating research and development (R&D) outcomes into practical applications within the service sector. <p><em>This study investigates the affiliation between industrial sub-sector performance and economic development in Nigeria from 1980 to 2025. The indicators used are manufacturing sector, mining and quarrying sector, construction sector and utility sector. The data were sourced from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Statistical bulletin. The study employed the Augmented Dickey Fuller (ADF) Unit root test, Johansson Co-integration tests, Error Correction Mechanism (ECM) model to ensure data stationarity and robust examination of short-run connections. Furthermore, the ECM (-1) results is -0.743865 or 74 % in absolute term and this indicates the speed of adjustment from the long run to its short run dynamics. The granger causality tests indicate that bi-directional associations exist among construction sector and human development index, manufacturing sector and human development index, mining and quarrying sector and human development index, construction and manufacturing sector in Nigeria. Again, uni-directional associations exit among manufacturing sector and mining and quarrying sector, manufacturing sector and construction sector, mining and quarrying sector and manufacturing sector. Finally, non-directional relationship existed among utility sector and human development index, Utility sector and construction sector, manufacturing sector and utility sector and mining and quarrying and utility sector. The study concludes that manufacturing sector output, the mining and quarrying sector output, construction sector output and utility sector output significantly impacts on the economic development of the Nigeria. <p>This study investigates the effect of microfinance services on the growth of women-owned businesses in selected Niger Delta states, Nigeria. Using a cross-sectional survey design, primary data were collected from 435 women entrepreneurs selected from a sample of 442 through a structured questionnaire. The study examined the influence of access to microcredit, entrepreneurship training, savings services, business advisory services, insurance services, and digital financial services on business growth. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize respondents' characteristics, while Binary Logit regression was employed to estimate the determinants of business growth, with the Binary Probit model used as a robustness check. The results indicate that access to microcredit, entrepreneurship training, savings services, business advisory services, and digital financial services significantly increase the probability of business growth, whereas insurance services have a positive but statistically insignificant effect. The Probit estimates closely mirror the Logit results, confirming the robustness of the findings across alternative model specifications. The study concludes that integrating financial and non-financial microfinance services is critical for enhancing the growth and sustainability of women-owned businesses. <p>The article investigates the theoretical and methodological foundations of domestic tourism diversification in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the issues of its development based on modern digital management mechanisms. The role of domestic tourism in the national economy, its impact on regional economic development, its importance in expanding the services market, and its function in shaping new tourism products are evaluated using a comprehensive approach. State policy on tourism sector development, modernization of domestic tourism infrastructure, ensuring ecological sustainability, and digital transformation processes are analyzed as an interconnected system. Furthermore, the importance of the environmental taxation system in sustainable tourism development and the concept of the "HR-Dashboard" digital platform developed for tourism enterprises are scientifically substantiated. It is demonstrated that this platform, based on artificial intelligence, Big Data, GIS technologies, predictive analytics, and real-time monitoring, creates opportunities to increase the management efficiency of tourism enterprises. <p>Enterprises producing seasonal products face a structural mismatch between the timing of cash inflows and outflows, which conventional financial sustainability assessment largely ignores. This paper develops a conceptual framework — the seasonal financial cycle — for assessing and managing the financial sustainability of seasonal production enterprises. Drawing on capital structure theory, the financial distress prediction literature and efficiency measurement theory, we identify five mutually reinforcing channels through which seasonality affects enterprise financial condition: working capital immobilization, periodic liquidity shortages, cyclical debt accumulation, fixed cost pressure during idle periods, and price risk concentration. We show analytically that point-in-time financial ratios computed at annual reporting dates are systematically biased for seasonal enterprises, with the direction and magnitude of the bias determined by the position of the reporting date within the seasonal cycle. The proposed framework replaces static thresholds with stage-specific normative corridors, a cycle-recovery criterion and inter-cycle dynamic analysis, and implies a two-level scheme for efficiency assessment. The framework yields three testable propositions and provides a foundation for constructing an integral assessment model using quarterly panel data, with implications for financial managers, lenders and regulators in emerging economies with large seasonal sectors.</p>Alisher A. <p>This article analyzes the issues of assessing warehouse and storage efficiency in retail enterprises. The study examined the warehouse capacity, average annual inventory volume, product range, warehouse occupancy rate, and storage costs of a number of trading enterprises operating between 2021 and 2025. The analysis results showed that warehouse efficiency indicators vary significantly across enterprises, and this is due to the level of inventory management and the development of the logistics system. It was also found that warehouse capacity and inventory growth are closely related to sales growth. As a result of the study, scientifically based proposals and recommendations were developed aimed at optimizing warehouse operations in retail enterprises, effectively managing inventory, and reducing storage costs.</p>Ergashev Jahongir Bakhodirovich

<p><em>The digitalisation of food production, distribution, retailing, and consumption has created large volumes of heterogeneous and rapidly changing data. Point-of-sale transactions, loyalty programmes, e-commerce clickstreams, delivery applications, social media, online reviews, mobile location records, Internet of Things sensors, weather information, and supply-chain systems can provide a more continuous view of food markets than conventional surveys alone. However, the availability of data does not automatically produce valid marketing knowledge. This article develops a Big Data–driven methodology for conducting marketing research in the food products market, with a proposed application to Uzbekistan. The framework organises the research process around five properties of Big Data volume, velocity, variety, veracity, and value and integrates transactional, behavioural, attitudinal, contextual, and operational data. It specifies six methodological layers: research-problem formulation, data-source mapping, data governance and integration, analytical modelling, insight validation, and managerial activation. The proposed design combines descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support market monitoring, demand forecasting, consumer segmentation, price and promotion evaluation, assortment decisions, and early detection of changes in consumer sentiment. Particular attention is given to data quality, identity resolution, selection bias, privacy, security, algorithmic fairness, and the difference between correlation and causality. Since an integrated empirical database is not yet available, the paper presents a conceptual and operational protocol rather than fabricated results. <p>This study evaluates the economic, environmental, and social implications of deploying artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled environmental monitoring stations at JSC “Uzbekcoal”, Uzbekistan’s principal coal producer. The case study integrates company environmental and production records with a structured before–after assessment, an environmental performance index, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) linkage model, and a cost–benefit framework. The proposed architecture combines Internet of Things sensors, edge validation, a centralized data platform, and AI-supported anomaly detection and forecasting. Company records associated with the monitoring initiative indicate a 44.5% reduction in environmental penalties, a 20–25% reduction in harmful emissions, and an estimated reduction of up to 20% in adverse environmental exposure affecting nearby communities. These values are interpreted as case-specific operational outcomes rather than universal causal effects because the available dataset does not support randomized attribution. The analysis shows how continuous measurement can convert environmental management from periodic compliance reporting into a preventive decision system: exceedances are detected earlier, mitigation resources are targeted more precisely, and auditable data improve stakeholder transparency. Economically, avoided penalties, lower incident-response expenditure, resource savings, and reduced downtime constitute the principal benefit channels. Socially, improved exposure control, disclosure, and grievance responsiveness strengthen the environmental and social dimensions of CSR. The paper proposes a phased implementation roadmap that emphasizes sensor co-location and calibration, data governance, human oversight, cybersecurity, and alignment with ISO 26000 and ESG reporting. The study identifies structural gaps in planning and executing ESG audits, specifically within the supply chain, processing, and transportation stages of industrial operations.As a solution, the author proposes a risk-based ESG audit strategy tailored to national corporate realities while aligning with international standards. <p>The accelerating convergence of environmental sustainability and digital transformation has created new opportunities for sustainable economic development, particularly in transition economies. This study examines the integration of green economy principles and digital economy technologies as a sustainable development model for Uzbekistan. The research addresses the existing gap in the literature by providing an empirical assessment of the relationship between digitalization and environmental sustainability using official national statistics. A mixed-method analytical approach was employed, combining multiple linear regression analysis based on annual time-series data for 2015–2023 obtained from the World Development Indicators with comparative policy analysis based on official government documents and reports published by international organizations. The quantitative analysis investigates the relationship between internet penetration, energy intensity, and carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions while controlling for key macroeconomic variables, including gross domestic product and gross capital formation. The findings indicate that increasing digitalization is associated with improved energy efficiency and lower energy intensity, although its contribution to reducing carbon emissions remains relatively limited due to the digital rebound effect. Comparative policy analysis further demonstrates that the successful integration of green and digital economies requires effective institutional coordination, continuous investment in digital infrastructure, and supportive regulatory frameworks. The study concludes that sustainable economic development in Uzbekistan depends on the simultaneous promotion of digital transformation and green economic policies. <p>Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly recognized as a transformative force for sustainable economic development, yet its integration into developing economies presents unique structural and institutional challenges. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the impact of artificial intelligence on the sustainable development of Uzbekistan's economy by examining the challenges, opportunities, and future prospects associated with the country's transition to a market economy and its ongoing digital transformation. Unlike prior descriptive reviews, This paper employs a systematic literature review combined with a comparative institutional analysis of AI adoption in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Estonia. The novelty of this study lies in applying a comparative institutional analysis to evaluate Uzbekistan's readiness for the sustainable integration of artificial intelligence through a comparison with Kazakhstan and Estonia. Findings reveal that while AI offers significant potential for optimizing resource management in agriculture, enhancing energy efficiency, and modernizing public services, major impediments include a fragmented digital infrastructure, a severe shortage of skilled AI professionals, and the absence of a comprehensive ethical and regulatory framework. Critically, the study identifies a "digital dependency trap" risk, where premature adoption of foreign AI systems without local data sovereignty could undermine long-term economic resilience. The paper concludes by outlining a phased roadmap for AI integration that prioritizes human capital development, adaptive governance, and sector-specific pilot projects, offering actionable insights for policymakers and contributing to the theoretical discourse on technology-driven sustainable transitions in emerging economies.</p>Kozimjonova Saidaxon Alisher qizi

<p>This article studies the issues of improving the mechanisms of state financial support for the introduction of water-saving technologies in the Republic of Karakalpakstan in the context of efficient use of water resources based on a comprehensive scientific approach. The economic, environmental and social significance of increasing the efficiency of water use in the agricultural sector in the context of climate change, water scarcity and land degradation is analyzed in depth. The study substantiates the possibilities of reducing water consumption, increasing productivity and reducing production costs as a result of the introduction of water-saving technologies, in particular drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. At the same time, the effectiveness of these technologies is compared with international experience based on data from the Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Bank. The article assesses the current state of financial instruments used by the state - subsidies, soft loans, grants and state programs, and analyzes their economic efficiency and coverage. It was found that while existing support mechanisms are yielding positive results, their institutional effectiveness and practical coverage are insufficient. Also, as part of the study, priority areas for improving the financial support system were developed, among which optimization of the subsidy mechanism, expansion of long-term preferential lending, attraction of investments on the basis of public-private partnerships, and introduction of digital monitoring systems are of particular importance. The results of the study are of significant scientific and practical importance in the rational use of water resources, increasing the efficiency of the agricultural sector, and ensuring food security in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and they can serve as a methodological basis for improving state agrarian and financial policies.</p>Seitnazarov Baxadir Muratbaevich

<p>This article analyzes the theoretical and practical aspects of improving the practice of interest rate risk management in commercial banks. The volatility of interest rates in global financial markets, inflation processes and macroeconomic uncertainties have a significant impact on banking activities. From this point of view, effective management of interest rate risks is an important factor in ensuring the financial stability of banks. The study examined modern methods of interest rate risk management, including GAP analysis, duration analysis and the possibilities of using derivative financial instruments. Also, the current management system in Uzbek commercial banks was analyzed and practical proposals and recommendations for its improvement were developed.
